The Incredible Journey

Chapter 3- In this chapter all the animals show their love for each other when Bodger is ataced by a bear cub after he colapses, since he is too weak to fight the bear off the cat, Tao, and the young dog, Luath, come to his rescue. After they fight the bear their love for each other grows even stronger. Their journey sort of takes a pause for a few days untill Bodgers wounds heal enough, but Bodger is still weak and can bearley keep his eyes open so Tao brings him food when ever he is in need of it for Tao is a skilled hunter. I think this chapter is very moving because they show sort of love, faithfulness and streingth by helping Bodger and working together. I love this chapter because I think it's really cute how they have a strong relationship even though they are so diferent.

Chapter 2- In this chapter their journey sort of begins when they are on the run in search of their master when their gaurdian, Mrs. Oakes, who shows up an hour later just to realize that the animals arent there and there is half a note waiting for her but Tao knocked the other half into the fier by acident the night before. Their journey begins; Luath starts walking down the street when he is followed by Bodger who doesn't really want to follow, then accompanied by Tao, who couldn't care less. But their journey is begining to become a chalange for the oldest animal, Bodger, when he is getting weak and tired. Than again all the animals are getting weak and hunger is starting to get the best of them. I am curious of what is going to happen to them and how they are going to survive in the wilderness. I can't wait to read more!

Chapter 8- I like this chapter because the trio is reunited, but it was no easy task when the cat was atacted by a lynx. Tao would travel swiftly and quickly leaving no trace behind, what he ate was burried when he was done with it, he would not break or crack any branches or twigs. The two dogs were easy to follow for they did not pay atention to their tracks. When he slept he would only take them for a short time, `cat naps` you could call them, and the would climb a tree and curl up in a ball on a limb and sleep. But in a few days he had a strange felling that something was following him, it turrned out to be a Lynx. Tao was not scared opf anything but he was aware of the danger and knew he could not fight him. Lucky for Tao a boy and his father were out hunting when they caught sight of the lynx and the boy shot it when it tried to fight him. Tao went on and with relief he met up with the other two dogs and enjoy every minute of each others company!

The Incredible Journey

Chapter 7- In this chapter the two dogs are not aware of the truth and without the cat to suply food Bodger is stuggleing. The old dog misses Tao very much for they have known each other years before Luath, they still love Luath, but no one could ever come between them. Hunger compels Luath to run on to a farm in an open feild and steal a chicken. The two dog were still eating when they heard a voice and they saw a farmer and a collie running at them. The collie sprang for Luath and, since Luath does no know how to fight, all he could do was sit there and embrace the pain, but Bodger instinctevely jump for the collie noking him over and off Luath. At first it was defence but once his opponete was weak he was atacing for fun and it seemed as though all of his years have fallen off of him. Defeated the collie went back to his master, but felling quite content the old dog and young troted off to the safetey of the bush.

Chapter 6- It's ALIVE! In this chapter we hear Tao side of the accident. He was rescued by a Finish girl and her family, who live on a farm and have an acre of land, and they have always wanted a pet. Tao is treated very well and gets food when ever he is hungry and can sleep when ever he wants to but Tao will soon have to give it all up and get used to old habits of eating and sleeping because he knows he can only stay untill he is better. The girl, Helvi, has to go to school in the day so when she is gone he wanders and follows the parents out were they do their daily chores and when she came home he was waiting for her. But while Tao was with Helvi's father, there was sounds made that Tao should have heard but didn't and the father thought Tao was deaf, but that night Tao gets his hearing back and with it he is better and must go. In the night he jumps up on the window sill and looks out into the night, Helvi looked at him and he looked at her, she was sad but knew that Tao must complet something and so when he jumped from the window she did not try to stop him. And so he was off on a journey of his own. I wonder if Tao will try and meet up with the other two; well back to reading what happens next?

The Incredible Journey

Chapter 5- Frearless and determined the trio thinks they can over come any obstical that stands in their way but the biggest chalenge of all stops them, the journey itself. when they come across a river that runs northwars and southward, they must continue west but this river is running fast and is at least one hundred meters across. Luath can get across no problem for he is stong and young, Bodger can do it he does not swim very well and is weaker because he is old, but is tall enough to keep his head out of the water. Now Tao is afraid of the water and can not swim at all, Luath encourages Tao by swiming across the river to show him how easy it is and Tao finaly finds the courage to jump in. But i do not think Tao will be returning in the water soon because the dam upstream breaks and send a huge wave of water and the animals flying. Luath manages to escape but Tao is not so lucky. Luath is doing all he can to keep up with Tao but when he gets to the end of the river there is no sing of Tao and they continue on as a twosome!  :( I think this chapter is exciting but sad at the same time. this has to be my favorite chapter because I showed the most emotion in this chapter and I cant wait to see what happens next!

The Incredible Journey

Chapter 4- In this chapter all the charecters start adapting to their new suroundings, some in a good way and some bad. Luath is starting to grab hold of his instinks and loosening his grip on his training. Even Bodger finds his inerself and finds an Indian tribe and can not help but follow his nose, they gave him food and took care of his wounds, he was where he wanted to be from the start the center of atraction. Tao followed and got some hospitaliy too but Luath, self voted leader, did not join them. Instead he called them and urged them on their incredible journey. Perhapse he thought that they were no help to their journey even though he needed food and rest. The Indians thought that the animals were a sing of  the White Dog of the Ojibways and it was testing them on their hospitality, if they failed they would have bad luck, but if they succeded they would have good luck. I think in this chapter the animals stumbled upon luck but I don't know why Luath wanted to join the other animals? What will happen next?

The Incredible Journey

Chapter 1- In this chapter the narrorator is describing all the main charecters, the setting and the charecter's story, how they came together and thier relationships with one another. They had owners, the Hunter family, Elizabeth, the little girl imideately decided that she was the acctual owner of the cat who is frearless and enthousdyastic about everything he does, Bodger is the old, wise dog who is ugly looking but love's atention is 'owened' by the little boy Petter, and Luath is the young atheletic dog who is always faithful to his matser, the father. The Hunter family had to move beause the father got a new job but they can not bring their beloved pets so the father gave them to his good friend John Longridge for the 10 months that they are gone, the animals do not like the change but are faithful to their new temporarory master. I like the setting of the story, it is sort of the tipical setting, a foggy day in the Indian summer situated in Northwest Onterio Canada, but no novel has it. I like the characters even though they can't talk, I think the journey that lies ahead will be very big.
